leaf spring

Post  Fred on Sat 06 Dec 2008, 10:41 am

Hi,

Could someone tell me if the leaf springs made by Kiwi can be fit on original Indian forks ?
Mine is an ex military Chief, I find the spring is quite "hard". I've tried different positions for the spring and let it in the most advanced position but it still bounce when riding on bad roads. I will be interested in a softer ride.
btw, I've tried different pressures in my front tire from 20 to 28 psi but I'm not satisfied (best with 20 psi). For now I run a square Avon 4.00x18" (Speedmaster MKII).

Hey Fred,
Our leaf pack does not fit the original fork package. We can produce a complete set of forks to fit your Chief but our leaf packs just fit our set up, they're too thick for original forks.

BTW, enjoy your website, you guys seem to have a lot of fun in Europe with these machines Smile

Crying or Very sad They seems thinner on the pictures I've seen... or may be it's their width which is larger ? In this case it will just be a question of filing the unwanted material ?

You will enjour more pictures of european events here :

Next year the "international" rallye will be held in Scottland.
It has been held there the last time in 1995 and it has been the best event for those who were there. I'm quite sure Red Fred (from California) will come, ask him if you see/know him. He has made a lot of european (or South hemisphere) events.

According to Kiwi, our leafs (individually) are larger and the ends are radius cut instead of diamond cut ends. Our leaf pack would work on your forks, it's just not original (if you are going for originality).
Re: Euro Rally, '95
I started working for Kiwi in '95 and remember RF going over and coming back with tall tales, including some that couldn't be repeated publically, having fun with Forbes Smile Smile Smile
